A Somerset West Business Built on One Simple Belief
Western Cape Wills and Estates was founded over 10 years ago with one goal in mind — to make deceased estates help accessible to every South African family regardless of their income or the size of their estate. We watched too many families lose thousands of rands in legal fees at the worst possible moment of their lives. So we decided to do something about it. Today we draft wills for free, administer deceased estates at half the legally allowed fee, and walk with Western Cape families through every step of one of life's most difficult processes. Not because it's good for business — because it's the right thing to do.

The cost question
"How much does it cost to administer a deceased estate?"
Most attorneys charge the maximum legally allowed executor fee of 3.5% plus VAT of the total estate value. On a R2 million estate that's R70 000 in fees alone. We charge half of that — always. And if you just need a will drafted, that's completely free.
The "where do I start" question
"I've just lost a loved one — what do I do first?"
The first thing to know is that a deceased estate must be reported to the Master of the High Court within 14 days of the passing. It sounds daunting but that's exactly what we're here for. Simply WhatsApp us and we'll walk you through every single step from day one — no legal jargon, no confusion.
