Western Cape Wills and Estates was founded over 10 years ago with one goal in mind — to make deceased estates help accessible to every South African family regardless of their income or the size of their estate. We watched too many families lose thousands of rands in legal fees at the worst possible moment of their lives. So we decided to do something about it. Today we draft wills for free, administer deceased estates at half the legally allowed fee, and walk with Western Cape families through every step of one of life's most difficult processes. Not because it's good for business — because it's the right thing to do.

We believe the cost of legal help should never feel like a second loss on top of your grief. That's why we charge half the legally allowed fee on every estate and draft every will completely free. Affordability isn't a promotion — it's a permanent commitment.

From the very first WhatsApp you'll know exactly what the process looks like, how long it takes, and what it will cost. No hidden fees, no confusing legal language, no surprises at the end. What we tell you upfront is exactly what you'll experience.

We never forget that behind every estate is a family going through one of the hardest experiences of their lives. We don't treat cases as numbers. We treat people as people — with patience, kindness and genuine care at every single step.

Professional legal help shouldn't only be available to wealthy families. We serve every Western Cape family regardless of their income, the size of their estate, or how complicated their situation is. Our door — and our WhatsApp — is always open.

Over 10 years of specialist focus on deceased estates, wills and subsidies means we know this process inside out. Every deadline, every document, every submission — handled correctly by someone who has done this hundreds of times before.

We're not a national firm with a call centre. We're a Somerset West business serving the community we live in. When you WhatsApp us you're reaching a real local person who understands the Western Cape and genuinely cares about the families in it.
Most attorneys charge the maximum legally allowed executor fee — and most families never question it because they don't know any better. We believe that's wrong. So we made a decision to always charge half.
"How much does it cost to administer a deceased estate?"
Most attorneys charge the maximum legally allowed executor fee of 3.5% plus VAT of the total estate value. On a R2 million estate that's R70 000 in fees alone. We charge half of that — always. And if you just need a will drafted, that's completely free.
"I've just lost a loved one — what do I do first?"
The first thing to know is that a deceased estate must be reported to the Master of the High Court within 14 days of the passing. It sounds daunting but that's exactly what we're here for. Simply WhatsApp us and we'll walk you through every single step from day one — no legal jargon, no confusion.
"Do I need a lot of money or a big estate to use your services?"
Absolutely not. We help every Western Cape family regardless of the size of the estate or their financial situation. Whether the estate includes a house, a small savings account, or just a will that needs drafting — we're here for you.
